Wondering what it would be like to live in Asia
During these last few weeks visiting China and Singapore, I've thought quite a lot about what it would be like to live in either place. I'd wondered over the years, but now I am actually considering it.
The more likely (and perhaps less culture shocking) would be Singapore. If I could just get past the constant heat and humidity :p At least it has more to offer than Phoenix.
In fact, here are current high temps for those locations I monitor in My Yahoo:
Hatboro PA 34F
Waterloo NE 32F
London 54F
Singapore 89F (and humid)
Copenhagen 40F
Reykjavik 38F
Shanghai (Suzhou) 39F
Hmm, at least Suzhou has actual seasons. Who knows. Input appreciated (and, yes, everyone could visit if I expat overseas).

I have friends that both lived and worked in Japan for two years and are back home now (both are your standard caucasian midwestern raised Americans, like you). I would be happy to put you in contact with them, or solicit responses to questions you may have.
One has a PhD and post-doc in Chemistry, and the other has a masters in psychology, so they are both smart like you (though they may have more common sense ;) )
need an assistant? I seriously need a change of pace/place. No grad degrees here, but I drink and fight ok. Asian girls tend to like me. Would make a good wingman in strange places.
I couldn't bring my children there though - I've learned from my vast :hah: Asian experiences that blondes are totally their thing esp blonde boys. I'm afraid Josh would get stolen!
BTW - I still need to upload pics of my cute blondes in their little Asian outfits :) We just got back from vacation, been busy! KBF

Your children are popular in Suzhou. The cute girls at the office there love the photos of us playing football in your yard.
