Now that's a short haircut
I got my first haircut in China last night. Let's leave it at that.
I been outta touch and I apologize for that. Busy with work and then a week-long vacation in Singapore. Ah, it was nice to get back there. And, after the first 2 days, I stopped thinking "I want to be here instead of Suzhou". Oh, well. Suzhou won't be so bad.
Moved into my new apartment today. Beats the old apartment quite much. Except the "broadband" isn't very broad. Narrow band, perhaps. I bought a WAP router so I didn't have to sit on the small bed (2 bedrooms) to use the 'net. Luckily, one of the building people set it up for me as all the screens are in Chinese. Whoda thought it?
Moving was interesting. Got everything in two taxi trips. Tomorrow I might try to buy a bicycle. Wonder if it will fit in a taxi or if I'll have a 7 mile adventure riding it home. After seeing the aftermath of a bicycle/car collision today, I think I'll stick to the SIP and stay away from downtown. How hard does someone have to hit a windshield to smash it with his/her body?
Photos sometime later. Much work to do tomorrow as I am late with budget stuff for next year. Yes, now that I'm a manager, I have to do such things. It only bothers me that I don't know what I'm doing. If I screw up, the worst they can do is fire me and send me back home :)
Your day's chuckle: the new apartment is on Ling Long Street.
Ok, here it is:
