shopping with the Mouse

The Mouse and I gave mom and break and went shopping by ourselves today. CVS, the post office, the running shoe store, and Macy's. It was a good time and a sunny pleasant day.

Now, everyone says the Mouse is cute, beautiful, adorable, well, you can imagine. Today I heard a new one. We were paying at Macy's and a nice lady, probably in her 20s, was working the register. I forget what she said first, something like "pretty baby", and then she said "oh, she has chinky eyes".

Huh?

She said, "yeah, she has chinky eyes, is her mom Asian?"

Mouse's new clothes

We don't buy many clothes for the Mouse as so many friends and family have supported her well. There was a clearance dress from Gymboree (not shown) and we had to have the clearance hat and shoes from Babies 'R Us.

As a side note, the cashier from B'RU has a daughter born 5 days before the Mouse, both with the original due date. We forgot to compare sleeping patterns. Five people at B'RU stopped us to say how cute Mouse is in her new hat. I also bought her a floppy, summer hat, but haven't photographed it yet.

I should change the blog title to "The House of Mouse" or summat.

Mouse photos

Time to update with new photos of the Mouse, since she's almost 2 months older than the last photos I posted. Well, not the bunny. The biggest improvement has been her hair filling in and growing out. GP is worried about her ears being more bat-like than mouse-like, so she's started hat wearing to train 'em closer to the head.

All of these photos will open to a larger size (800x800 or so) and in a new window for your convenience.

At 17 lbs, it's much easier to carry her around this way.

A beautiful outfit from Grandma O

We caught her chewing holes in the sheets to make a nest. Ha! Not really.

She's got her mom's thighs. They are actually the same size as GP's calves.

And, finally, fun food prep in our kitchen. The little fish were tasty, but man those bones were small.

Time flies as it crawls along

It's strange - seems like we've been back in the US forever, but also like we just arrived. Probably because each day is like the previous, play with baby, look for job, buy groceries, look for job, sleep.

Nothing very new on the job front, except a couple of interviews. I should know in a week and a half if I have a job in NJ and, if not, I'll be busting to get the job in the Philippines. If both fall through, it'll be keep pushing for new interviews. Heck, I'm doing that anyway. Just not that many openings out there :p

The Mouse is getting more fun every day, though the whining is taxing our very souls! She still doesn't nap or sleep very well, which can make GP very tired. We've only 6 more weeks to tough it out and then we'll start the molding process. Bwahahaha! Nap schedules, bottle drinking, introduction to food.
